Nigeria's Odunayo Adekuoroye wins gold medal

Pooja Dhanda came close on a gold medal but had to settle for silver after losing to Nigeria's Odunayo Adekuoroye in the summit clash of the 57kg freestyle wrestling in the Commonwealth Games 2018 here on Friday. Pooja earned the initial point as a warning on her opponent. However, Odunayo came from behind to outplay Pooja and take 5 consecutive points to take her lead to 6-1. at the end of the first round.

In the final three minutes, Odunayo used her movements well disallowing Pooja to grapple her. In the dying minutes, Pooja came back to cut short the deficit to 5-7 to settle for the silver medal.
